Similar to the TYC taillamp sold as an option @ Scion dealers (Scionsport says they are made by the same manufacturer), I purchased this one as I am a supporter of the 'amber' turn signals (I hate it when many have changed to all red turn signals---think it's a step backwards for visual safety).
Quality of workmanship IMO on a scale of 10 (10 being the highest) would be:7.75. I'm a little leery of its water protection as opposed to the oem taillamps as those have a protective barrier above the top most bulb and then all 3 lightbulbs are protected/surrounded further with molding protection whereas this FX taillamp is not.
Installation took about an hour (took my time being cautious as I heard about how loosening the nut washers (2) each for each taillamp with a 10mm wrench may sometimes fall into the bottom innards of the inside sheetmetal body--where you can say goodbye to that nut washer (get a short length wrench as you have limited space---felt that removing the bottom nut washer on both sides were harder than the top)!
When you remove the oem taillamps and replace with the new, you could either first remove the bayonet connection or remove the 2 nut washers. Get the new taillamp and reroute the wiring for 2 of the 3 bulbs into its individual hole. Tighten then reinstall the bayonet connection of the new taillamp to the exisiting connection.
As I am a right handed person, it was easier to tighten the right side taillamp and unloosen the left side taillamp, as opposed to a left handed person who would feel the reverse is easier.
Wow, nicer in appearance and a bit more exclusive than the optional TYC taillamp sold by dealers.
I do however give it 4 out of 5 stars...
